2009 TAYM Update
As we begin the 2 Quarter and the New Year, we have several resolutions and goals to achieve; starting with the trip to White sands New Mexico for the Bataan Memorial death march, March 29th. TAYM will be sending 2 teams of 5 to participate in the 26.2 mile marathon. Training for this event is currently ongoing, see Mr. White for details. Also, the 2009 Recruit training class will begin with an orientation Mar.14, this will be the kick off of the new "Leave a Legacy" recruit training program, Graduating Recruits will vote for the most inspirational NCO YM Instructor and which we will present a plaque and honor the Instructor by naming the Graduating recruit platoon after. Something ALL NCOs’ should be striving for. Our Unit is growing; more NCOs’ will be needed. We have plans for all our leaders to attend Leadership schools, JLS and SLS this summer. For details see the Unit Adjutant Mrs. Anderson. Remember this is your program, the adults are there to supervise and give guidance, and YOU, the Young Marine Leader and follower are there to learn, train and have FUN. Ideals and suggestions to improve the program are always welcome by myself or my staff, never be afraid to ask. Keep your sights on your target goals and obey your parents and the rewards of your success will come to light.

Fundraising:
Everyone has done a great job in our effort to raise money for the unit trip to the National Encampment in Baltimore this coming August. We are very near the goal, but would like to be able to surpass it as well. There are still a few more events planned prior to August, so Young Marines please step up and help out in every way possible.
Mission ¾:
The unit has been busy collecting baby wipes, batteries and jerky to send to the ¾ Marines currently deployed in Iraq. Collection boxes are still available in the front entrance of Camp McCormick. Great job by Cpl. McLean and Recruit Beliles with the collection effort they headed at Robert Goddard Middle School.
